Plot Summary:
John Hancock (Will Smith) is a superhero, who is unhappy and living in his own world. He drinks heavily and is very depressed for a unknown reason. As a superhero, he has saved many people. But saving them caused damaged cars, trains, roads and anything which gets in the way on hancock. He is not appreciated by the people. The last time he captured several criminals but it caused the city 9 million dollars just for the damage Hancock created.

One day he saves a life of Ray Embrey from being ran over by a train, he was very thankful of his rescue. So Ray offers Hancock to change his image as a bad superhero to a good superhero who has the crowd cheering for him when he saves someone. Ray's wife(Charlize Theron) doesn't believe that Hancock can be changed in any kind of way.
